Title: Whispered Words
Pairing: Zayn/You

You walk away after you’ve just had an argument with Zayn, but you feel him tug you back on your wrist. He pulls you flush against his chest and wraps his arms around you.
“I regret what I said. I’m sorry,” he whispers in your ear, “I didn’t mean to say that.” And he brushes the tears that he caused to fall on your face.
You feel his thumb swipe across your cheeks and his brown eyes are looking at you in apology, seeking your forgiveness.
You tear your eyes away from his own. His words had hurt you deeply, striking you in the most hurtful way possible.
“I- I,” you start to say, but your breath hitches in you throat. “What you said hurt me Zayn and I-“
“I know, I know.” Zayn says miserably and he hugs you tighter against him. He buries his face into your hair. You feel him holding onto you desperately.
And then you realize it. The way he ran to get you back before you left, the way he’s holding you, the way he’s grasping onto you and not letting you go- it’s not something someone would do if he didn’t care.
You cry harder, realizing just how much you were worth to him, how much he cares for you.
You tentatively wrap your arms around him too, laying your head against his shoulder. “I forgive you, I forgive you, I forgive you.” You repeat it many times, letting each word wash over him and you. And suddenly you hear him apologize each time you say you forgive him.
Before long, you two had gone silent, holding each other close, afraid to let go.
But Zayn pulls your head up to face him and begins to lean down and stops when his lips are just brushing against your own.
“I love you,” he murmurs against your quivering lips and kisses you with all that he is. The kiss speaks of his regret, his fears, his sincerity, and most of all, his love.
It was the sweetest kiss that you’ve ever tasted.
Notes: ummm… simple drabble. i like it a lot actually. it conveyed the emotions and images i wanted to create perfectly. i am actually very proud of this one :)
